Staring out at the pouring rain
Wondering why I ran away
I know He’s near, I know He hears
But knowledge won’t erase my fears
I fear the lonely nights
The helpless falling from imagined heights
I fear, my God – I cannot see
And all the while He calls to me
Trust and wait
I love you so
O precious child
I won’t let go
The night wears on, the cars flash by
Why God won’t you let me fly?
Even so, I’ll give you all
I trust you Lord to catch my fall
But still, Lord, still…
I fear those lonely nights
And falling from such earthly heights
I fear, my God – but now I see
That all the while you call to me
Trust and wait
I love you so
O precious child
I won’t let go

But for you, O LORD, do I wait;
it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.
